Abstract:
We present a low-loss adiabatic coupler for efficient optical mode transfer between Sc0.1Al0.9N and silicon waveguides. Leveraging the nonlinear properties and Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) compatibility of ScAIN, our design achieves loss of 0.3 dB/coupler for TE mode, enabling localized modulation with minimal insertion loss for bilayer photonic integration.
