Abstract:
A wideband leaky-wave antenna (LWA) is designed using composite right/left-handed (CRLH) T-shaped slotted unit cells integrated with a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW). The antenna features a multilayered structure, with a parasitic rectangular patch layer sandwiched between two substrate layers. The proposed antenna consists of twenty-one T shaped slotted CRLH unit cells, enabling continuous beam steering through frequency sweeping. The antenna beam can be steered across a range of angles such as -53° to 64°, within a frequency range from 5.48 GHz to 8.215 GHz and antenna design achieves a peak gain of 9 dBi. The proposed antenna is well-suited for cost-effective beam scanning applications.
