Abstract:
A novel hybrid dielectric resonator antenna (DR) antenna design is proposed for dual-band 5th generation (5G) millimeter-wave (mmWave) applications. This antenna integrates strip, slot, and innovative dielectric resonators to operate effectively across two distinct frequency bands. The lower band (LB), spanning 27.2 GHz to 32.2 GHz, leverages strip and slot resonances, while the upper band (UB) from 36.7GHz to 40.0 GHz is achieved through a uniquely shaped DRA with a stub. This innovative hybrid DRA shows significant potential for enhancing mmWave wireless communications, supporting frequencies at both 28 GHz and 38 GHz bands.
