Abstract:
A single-feed wideband high gain circularly polarized (CP) stacked-antenna is proposed for INMARSAT/GNSS application. The antenna involves of a radiating ring-slotted patch with a grounded via, a slit-slotted stacked patch, an air gap, and a coaxial feeding probe. An antenna prototype at the L-band with total size of 100mm × 100mm × 21mm shows a measured 3-dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of 11.3% (1.50 GHz - 1.68 GHz), impedance bandwidth (-10dB reflection coefficient) of 17.6% (1.45 GHz - 1.73 GHz), and gain greater than 7.2 dBic across the AR bandwidth.
