Abstract:
In this paper, a wideband horizontally polarized omnidirectional antenna for 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) wireless communication systems is presented. The proposed antenna consists of an array of tapered slot antenna elements which are circularly arranged, which offers good omnidirectionality across a wide bandwidth. The measured results show that the antenna is able to achieve impedance matching (|S11| ≤ -10 dB) and omnidirectionally of ±2 dB within the LTE band of 1.9-2.7 GHz. With the compact and low-profile structure, the antenna is suitable to be mounted on the ceiling for indoor applications.
