Abstract:
A broadband low-profile circularly polarized (CP) metasurface antenna fed by a single rotated L-probe is proposed. With the L-shaped probe feed, an additional surface wave resonance is excited on the finite metasurface to enhance the bandwidth of the antenna. The single rotated L-probe fed asymmetrical metasurface antenna yields an overlapped impedance/gain/axial-ratio bandwidth of 20.7% from 5.71 GHz to 7.03 GHz, a peak gain of 8.85 dBic, and FBR higher than 19 dB, covering the 6-GHz band for coming WiFi 7 applications. Experiments are carried out as well to validate the proposed CP antenna design.
