Abstract:
A metasurface antenna for wideband circularly polarized radiation is proposed, where the metasurface acts as a parasitic radiator. As shown in Fig. 1, the proposed antenna consists of a rectangular patch, a parasitic metasurface radiator, and a coaxial feeding probe. The metasurface is con¯gured by using array of rectangular patch unit cells. An antenna prototype exhibits a wideband 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth of 36.3% (3.646 GHz{5.26 GHz) with a realized gain of more than 5.0 dBic. The 10-dB return loss bandwidth is 68.7% (3.114 GHz{6.372 GHz).
