Abstract:
A metamaterial-based wideband horizontally polarized omnidirectional antenna array with zero-phase-shift line loop elements is presented for 5-GHz wireless local area network. A four-element linear antenna array with an overall size of 37 mm × 22 mm × 230 mm shows desirable performance over the frequency range of 5.1-5.9 GHz with |S11| less than -10 dB, gain greater than 5 dBi, and omnidirectivity of ± 2.5 dB.
